Allegany County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on April 6.

This month is dedicated to honoring all the volunteers in our communities as well as encouraging volunteerism throughout the month.

A student tip about a possible firearm led St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s deputies to investigate at Great Mills High School on April 14. No weapon was found but alcohol and marijuana were recovered from one student who now faces charges related to substance possession.
