The Arbor Day Foundation has named Mount Rainier as a 2025 Tree City USA. This award recognizes local efforts to promote urban forestry and environmental benefits for residents.
Takoma Park will hold a Public Art Project Build Day on April 18 at its Community Center Basketball Court. Residents ages ten and up are invited to help create an artwork celebrating local immigrant communities by weaving ribbons into a fence. No reservations are needed.
