Coppin State University’s Brandy Babcock-Hannah was named to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women’s Tennis All-Conference Second Team, according to an announcement from the league office on April 22. This marks the first time Babcock-Hannah has received All-Conference honors, with voting conducted by the league’s head coaches and sports information directors.

Babcock-Hannah, a sophomore from Menifee, California, becomes the first Coppin State women’s tennis player to earn All-MEAC recognition since Iva Jankovic received second team accolades in 2022. She is only the fourth different player from Coppin State’s women’s tennis program to be named an All-MEAC recipient.

Throughout the season, Babcock-Hannah played exclusively in both the first singles and doubles positions. She secured a straight-set singles win against Delaware State and claimed a three-set victory at Towson. In doubles play with freshman Saphirre Ferguson, she achieved five wins against teams from George Mason, Delaware State, Hampton, Morgan State and UDC.

The Eagles are scheduled to compete against second-seeded Norfolk State in the MEAC Tournament at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, North Carolina. The match is set for Thursday morning at 8:00 am on April 23.

Babcock-Hannah’s achievement highlights her growing impact within Coppin State’s tennis program as well as her contributions during key matches this season.
