The City of Bowie announced on Mar. 26 that it will provide rides to polling locations for residents aged 55 and older, as well as those with disabilities, ahead of the upcoming election. Appointments can be made through the Senior Center Transportation office.

This service aims to help ensure that all eligible voters in these groups have access to polling places, removing potential barriers related to mobility or transportation.

Residents who wish to use this service are asked to contact the Senior Center Transportation office at 301-809-2324. Rides will be available by appointment only between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7.

The city’s initiative highlights ongoing efforts by local governments to support voter participation among seniors and people with disabilities.

Looking forward, city officials encourage eligible residents needing assistance on Election Day to make arrangements early in order to secure their ride.
