The City of Bowie announced on April 6 that it will hold two virtual public hearings this month to gather resident input on the Fiscal Year 2026 Annual Action Plan for its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.

The plan details proposed programs and funding priorities aimed at meeting goals set in the city’s Five-Year Strategy, which is part of Bowie’s larger Consolidated Plan for Community Development. The hearings offer residents an opportunity to provide feedback and help shape how federal funds are used in their community.

According to the announcement, the public hearings are scheduled virtually from 7 to 8 p.m. on April 8 and April 22. Residents interested in learning more about the Annual Action Plan or wishing to participate in the meetings can visit www.cityofbowie.org/app for additional information or registration details.

The CDBG program is a federally funded initiative designed to support local projects that benefit low- and moderate-income residents, address community needs, and promote neighborhood revitalization. Public participation plays a key role in ensuring these resources are allocated effectively according to community priorities.

By holding these virtual hearings, city officials seek input from a broad range of residents as they finalize funding decisions for the coming year.
