On November 18, 2024, Rep. Trone acknowledged the reduction in overdose deaths across the country as a positive development but cautioned against complacency. He expressed hope that Congress would continue bipartisan efforts to combat this crisis: “The drop in overdose deaths in our country is something to celebrate, but not take for granted. I hope Congress can continue to work in a bipartisan manner to ensure we continue to fight this devastating crisis for years to come.”

On November 19, 2024, he highlighted Team Trone’s participation in a ribbon-cutting event at SHIP Frederick, an organization dedicated to supporting homeless students in Frederick County. This event coincided with National Youth Homelessness Awareness Month: “Team Trone recently attended @shipfrederick’s ribbon cutting celebrating 10 years of assisting thousands of Frederick students experiencing homelessness. During National Youth Homelessness Awareness Month, we honor SHIP’s service to Maryland’s youth.”

On November 20, 2024, Rep. Trone visited Montgomery County Police Department’s Real Time Crime Center and emphasized the importance of safety within communities. He announced his request for $2.1 million funding to make the center a permanent fixture: “Every Marylander deserves to feel safe in their own community. I visited @mcpnews’ Real Time Crime Center to see how they use data analysis to prevent crime, and I’ve requested $2.1 million to implement the center permanently.”
