Deer Park man arrested for indecent exposure and drug charges

The Garrett County Sheriff’s Office announced on April 26 that a Deer Park resident was arrested on multiple charges, including indecent exposure and possession of methamphetamine, following an incident on Maryland Highway.

Authorities said the arrest took place after deputies responded to reports of a male exposing himself to passing vehicles near Freedom Ag & Energy around 3:15 p.m. on April 19. Deputies identified the suspect as Joseph Michael Collins, age 46, from Deer Park. According to Sheriff Bryson Meyers, “Through the investigation, deputies located and arrested Joseph Michael Collins, 46 years old, Deer Park, for indecent exposure. During the course of the arrest, Collins resisted arrest and pulled away from deputies until he was finally secured and handcuffed.” Meyers also said that a search revealed methamphetamine in Collins’ possession.

Collins was charged with indecent exposure, possession of methamphetamine, and resisting arrest before being transported to the Garrett County Detention Center. He was later released on his own recognizance after appearing before a District Court Commissioner.
