Rep. Glenn Ivey, who represents Maryland’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted several initiatives and policy concerns on his social media account.

On September 12, 2025, Rep. Ivey announced a program aimed at engaging young people in technology development. “My office is proud to host The Congressional App Challenge! The CAC is a nationwide event, open to middle and high school students in our district.
Students can work as individuals or on teams to create an application, or ‘app,’ for web, PC, tablet, mobile, robotics or other https://t.co/pRFj6mLKnC”
he posted.

Later that day, he addressed economic issues and inflation in response to statements by former President Trump. On September 12, 2025 he wrote: “President Trump says he ‘solved inflation.’ The truth? Prices are still rising—and his own tariffs are driving them higher. Families are paying more for everyday goods while core inflation stays above target.

That’s not relief, it’s spin. Americans deserve real solutions, not”

In another post from the same date, Rep. Ivey discussed a visit to a local technology company working on battery innovation: “Glad to join Jorge Schneider, CEO of @ION_Storage_Sys Systems and Dr. Pat O’Shea of @UMD at Ion’s state-of-the-art facility in Beltsville.

Their cutting-edge solid-state battery work—born out of UMD research—shows how academic, private, and federal partners can drive U.S.”

Rep. Glenn Ivey has represented Maryland’s 4th District since replacing Anthony Brown in 2023 (https://bioguide.congress.gov/search/bio/I000131). Prior to serving in Congress, he was a member of the Maryland House of Representatives. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961 and currently residing in Cheverly at age 62, Ivey holds degrees from Princeton University (BA) and Harvard Law School (JD).
