Rep. Glenn Ivey, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Maryland’s 4th district, has been vocal about several key issues through his recent social media posts. He replaced Anthony Brown in 2023 and has a background that includes a BA from Princeton University and a JD from Harvard Law School.
On June 17, 2025, Rep. Ivey addressed efforts by House Democrats to counteract actions taken by the Trump administration regarding NIH research grants. In his post, he stated: “Through the Litigation and Rapid Response Task Force, @HouseDemocrats have been actively pushing back against the Trump administration’s unlawful and discriminatory decision to cancel over $1 billion in NIH research grants. Today, we filed an amicus brief challenging these”.

The following day, on June 18, Rep. Ivey expressed his involvement with local initiatives addressing food insecurity. He wrote: “I enjoyed volunteering with local public officials at The Bowie Food Pantry. We discussed food insecurity in the district, across our nation and ways to continue to support food assistant programs like the food pantry.” He emphasized the role of The Bowie Interfaith Pantry and Emergency Aid Fund in these efforts.
Glenn Ivey was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961 and now resides in Cheverly.
