Rep. Glenn Ivey, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Maryland’s 4th district, has been vocal on several issues through his recent social media posts. On February 3, 2025, he addressed concerns regarding the current administration’s actions and their potential impacts on constituents, emphasizing the importance of community discussion and engagement.

In a post dated February 3, 2025, Rep. Glenn Ivey highlighted his concerns about the current administration’s decisions. He stated: “The actions of the current administration will have severe impacts on our constituents.” He invited constituents to join him and Council Member D5 Ivey for a Zoom meeting scheduled for Thursday, February 6 at 7:30 p.m., aiming to discuss these impacts further.

Later that day, Rep. Ivey expressed his views on legislative authority over USAID with another post: “Only Congress has the power to make decisions like this over USAID, which has positively served our nation and the world for decades.” He emphasized that such matters are governed by law and not open to debate.

On February 3, 2025, Rep. Ivey also commented on economic policies related to tariffs implemented by former President Trump: “Trump is right about one thing with his new tariffs – they will cause pain.” He criticized these tariffs as being reckless and detrimental to working families by increasing prices on everyday goods without strengthening the domestic economy.
