Rep. Glenn Ivey, representing Maryland’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, shared his views on several significant issues through a series of tweets on March 14, 2025. Ivey, who succeeded Anthony Brown in Congress in 2023 and previously served in the Maryland House of Representatives, expressed his positions on legislative decisions and community achievements.

In a tweet posted at 17:33 UTC on March 14, Rep. Glenn Ivey stated his opposition to a continuing resolution (CR) vote earlier that week. He affirmed his stance by saying “I voted no on the CR earlier this week and I stand behind my vote.” He also urged his Senate Democratic colleagues to follow suit.

Later that day at 19:19 UTC, Rep. Ivey expressed disappointment regarding federal funding cuts impacting Johns Hopkins University. In his post, he conveyed concern about the Trump administration’s decision to reduce $800 million from federal grants allocated to the university. This cutback has forced Johns Hopkins to cancel numerous research projects and lay off staff members, with potential repercussions beyond Maryland as “Johns Hopkins is now forced to cancel hundreds of research projects and lay off essential staff.”

In another message at 22:15 UTC on March 14, Rep. Ivey celebrated an achievement by Largo High School’s sports team in Prince George’s County. He acknowledged their success as they advanced to the state championship with commendations for Cam Ward and his father-coach duo by stating “The dynamic duo-Cam Ward and his father, his coach, are headed to the State Championship.”
