Loyola Greyhounds women’s lacrosse will travel to play Holy Cross for their last regular season road game on April 17. Loyola has maintained a perfect record against Holy Cross, winning all 12 previous matchups, including two victories last season with scores of 20-10 and 21-8.
The matchup is significant as Loyola continues its strong performance this season, led by standout players such as Morgan Quade and Lauren Perfetto. Quade leads the team with 28 assists and 50 points, while Perfetto follows closely behind in both categories. Mae Murphy has set new records in draw controls as a freshman, breaking Division I, Loyola, and Patriot League single-season marks with her performance so far.
Head coach Jen Adams is now in her eighteenth season guiding the Greyhounds. Since the start of the 2022 season, Adams’ teams have compiled a record of 78-20 and achieved five NCAA Tournament wins. She recently celebrated her 250th career win after defeating Colgate last week.
This year’s squad features several players recognized by the Patriot League for their achievements: Elisa Faklaris, Cydney Lisk, and Mim Suares-Jury were named to the All-Preseason Team. Murphy has earned Rookie of the Week honors four times and was also named Defensive Player of the Week most recently; Faklaris was recognized as Midfielder of the Week during Week Three.
Last year marked Loyola’s seventh consecutive trip (excluding pandemic-shortened seasons) to the NCAA Tournament. The team reached quarterfinals in both 2022 and 2023 but fell to Stony Brook in last year’s first round.
Holy Cross enters Saturday’s contest with a record of five wins and nine losses overall (three wins and four losses within their league), having dropped three straight games. Their leaders include Kate Avitabile with forty-one assists and Hadley Cepiel who leads with thirty-three goals this season. In goalkeeping duties, Mackenzie Creagh has started every game this year.
Looking ahead, Loyola will honor its senior class after their next home game against Colgate. Over four years at Evergreen campus, these seniors have helped achieve a .766 winning percentage along with multiple league championships.
