Marriott International leaders spoke at the Great Place to Work For All Summit, which brought together more than 1,500 leaders from over 500 companies for discussions on workplace culture and leadership, according to an April 29 announcement. The event included Marriott executives, human resources partners, and members of Associate Resource Groups who highlighted how collaboration helps strengthen Marriott’s people-first approach globally.

A main stage conversation featured Anthony G. Capuano, President and CEO of Marriott International, and Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work. They discussed values-driven leadership and the importance of human connection in workplaces that are increasingly shaped by technology.

Capuano said that while technology is improving efficiency in hospitality, personal connections remain central to the industry. He shared a reflection from Bill Marriott: “If we do our jobs well, we have the privilege of being woven into the fabric of people’s lives.” Capuano said this belief continues to influence how Marriott supports its employees through training and coaching so they can deliver positive guest experiences.

The company’s focus on leadership development was also emphasized during the event. Capuano spoke about Marriott’s people brand “Be” and encouraged associates to be curious, courageous, and connected.

Marriott’s commitment has been recognized with high rankings on several lists compiled by Great Place to Work. The company is currently ranked No. 5 on the World’s Best Workplaces list and No. 7 among U.S. Best Workplaces; it is also named a top ten employer in more than a dozen countries worldwide.

Ty Breland, Chief Human Resources Officer and Executive Vice President for Global Operations Services at Marriott International said: “For nearly 100 years, putting people first has been at the heart of who we are. Our core values guide how we lead, how we support our associates, and how we create opportunity for growth at every level of the organization.”

At the end of this year’s summit it was announced that Marriott will host next year’s Great Place to Work For All Summit in Atlanta as it approaches its centennial anniversary.
