The Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks lost to the Towson Tigers 8-3 on March 18 at Schuerholz Park.
The game saw the Hawks take an early lead with a solo home run in the third inning, but Towson responded with six runs in the bottom of that frame, shifting momentum and putting the Tigers ahead by five runs. The loss brings the Hawks’ record to 2-15 overall and 1-5 in conference play, while Towson improves to 7-10.
After falling behind, Maryland Eastern Shore narrowed the gap in the fifth inning with a two-RBI single up the middle, cutting their deficit to three runs. However, Towson answered back in the sixth with two more runs. Neither team scored during the final three innings.
Statistically, Maryland Eastern Shore recorded three runs on six hits and one error. Jimenez went 1-for-4 with a home run—his first of the season—a walk, and two runs scored. Taylor contributed by going 1-for-5 and driving in two runs for UMES. The bullpen also delivered two scoreless innings while facing the minimum number of batters.
