The Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks lost to the Towson Tigers, 19-5, on March 25 at Hawk Stadium. The game saw the Tigers pull ahead early and maintain their lead throughout the matchup.

This result marks another setback for the Hawks, who now have a season record of four wins and seventeen losses. The loss is significant as it comes during a five-game homestand for Maryland Eastern Shore.

Towson scored first in the top of the opening inning, but Maryland Eastern Shore quickly tied it up after scoring on a wild pitch in their half of the first. However, from the second through sixth innings, Towson recorded eighteen unanswered runs. The Hawks’ most productive inning came in the bottom of the sixth with an RBI groundout, an RBI single by Jimenez, and a two-RBI double that brought their total to five runs.

Jimenez led at bat for Maryland Eastern Shore with four hits in four appearances and one run batted in. Negron also contributed by going two-for-three at the plate. On defense, one pitcher matched his season high with four strikeouts over 2.2 scoreless innings pitched. Wilson made his collegiate debut and recorded his first career RBI during this game.

The final numbers showed Maryland Eastern Shore with five runs on nine hits and two errors while Towson tallied nineteen runs on eighteen hits without committing any errors.

Looking ahead, Maryland Eastern Shore will continue its homestand against Long Island at noon Friday at Hawk Stadium. Fans can watch live via YouTube or follow live stats at umeshawksports.com.
