The University of Maryland Eastern Shore women’s golf team finished in fifth place at the Prospect Bay Intercollegiate, after shooting a combined score of 310 on Sunday, Mar. 30. The performance moved the Hawks up from ninth to fifth in the final standings of the tournament held in Grasonville, Maryland.
The team completed the weekend with a total score of 645 among twelve participating teams. Individual scores for UMES golfers included rounds ranging from 76 to 87 over two days of play.
This result marks an improvement for Maryland Eastern Shore as they climbed several spots on the leaderboard during the final round. The team’s steady play contributed to their advancement and higher placement among competing schools.
Looking ahead, the Hawks will spend two weeks preparing for their next event: the Northeast Conference Championships scheduled for April 17 and 18 at Turf Valley Resort in Ellicott City, Maryland.
The upcoming conference championships represent an important opportunity for UMES to build on their recent momentum and aim for continued success.
