Steny Hoyer, a longstanding U.S. Congressman representing Maryland’s 5th District, has been actively engaging with various causes and events as reflected in his recent social media posts. His tweets underscore his ongoing commitment to international relations, veteran support, and federal workforce advocacy.

On February 5, 2025, Hoyer expressed his honor in joining the Ukraine Caucus for Ukraine Week 2025. He emphasized the importance of supporting Ukrainians in their fight for democracy and human rights. In his post “Honored to join the @UkraineCaucus today to kick off Ukraine Week 2025.” he shared a link to his full remarks on this initiative.

Later that day, Hoyer posted about a Valentine’s Day initiative aimed at appreciating veterans within his district. He invited constituents from #MD05 to participate by sending “Valentines for Vets” to be delivered to local veterans’ facilities. As per his tweet “In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, I invite #MD05 to show appreciation for those who have served our country with Valentines for Vets!”, cards were requested by February 6th.

Furthering his efforts on February 5th, Hoyer collaborated with fellow Congress member Gerry Connolly and others to meet with federal employee groups and civil service organizations. This meeting focused on counteracting former President Trump’s policies perceived as detrimental to federal workers. In this context, Hoyer tweeted “I joined @GerryConnolly and Members to meet federal employee groups & civil service organizations.” highlighting the essential role of federal employees in maintaining national operations.
