A federal grand jury has indicted David Turner, 35, of Miami, Florida, on charges related to the deaths of his ex-wife and her boyfriend in Frederick County, Maryland. According to the indictment, Turner traveled from another state to Maryland with the intent to commit domestic violence resulting in death. The indictment further alleges that Turner shot and killed his former spouse, Crimea Baker, as well as a second victim, Sean Lange.
The announcement was made by Kelly O. Hayes, U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland. Hayes was joined by Special Agent in Charge Jimmy Paul of the FBI’s Baltimore Field Office; J. Charles Smith, State’s Attorney for Frederick County; and Sheriff Charles A. Jenkins of the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office.
“An indictment is merely an allegation. The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law,” stated officials.
Hayes recognized the investigative efforts of several agencies including the FBI, Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office, Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, Miami Dade Police Department, Miami Beach Police Department, Hialeah Gardens Police Department, Ft. Lauderdale Police Department, and Bartow County (Georgia) Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kim Y. Hagan and James G. O’Donohue III are prosecuting the case.
