Rep. Glenn Ivey, who represents Maryland’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to address several national issues, including economic pressures, community empowerment, and support for federal workers.
On March 17, 2026, Ivey criticized former President Donald Trump and House Republicans regarding the rising cost of living, attributing it to their policies on Iran. He wrote: “President Trump’s war with Iran is making your life more expensive. The President and House Republicans could care less about solving the affordability crisis that they created. Don’t take my word for it:

The following day, March 18, Ivey highlighted his participation at the National Urban League Empowerment Summit. He stated: “Proud to speak at the @NatUrbanLeague Empowerment Summit about what’s at stake for our communities. We need more affordable housing, real police accountability, and a strong defense of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
I’m pushing for policies that deliver opportunity for all. https://t.co/GjVz9efjjL“
Later that same day, Ivey reported on a press conference led by House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries concerning federal employees’ welfare. He posted: “At today’s press conference led by Leader Hakeem Jeffries, House Democrats made it clear: Our TSA agents, Coast Guard, and DHS workers show up every day — now Republicans in Congress need to show up for them. https://t.co/V5f8HZsQQ1”
Glenn Ivey has served as Maryland’s 4th District representative since 2023 after succeeding Anthony Brown in Congress. Before joining Congress, he served in the Maryland House of Representatives and holds degrees from Princeton University (BA) and Harvard Law School (JD). Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961 and currently residing in Cheverly at age 62, Ivey continues to focus on issues such as affordability crises and opportunities for marginalized communities.
