Rep. Glenn Ivey, a U.S. Congressman representing Maryland’s 4th district since 2023, addressed several national issues in a series of posts on September 3, 2025.
In a post published at 15:38 UTC, Ivey described his participation in a press conference alongside other lawmakers concerning the federal takeover of Washington, D.C. He stated, “Earlier, I joined my colleagues @EleanorNorton, @repdeliaramirez, @RepJudyChu,@NydiaVelazquez, @RepChuyGarcia for a press conference on the federal takeover of DC.
We’ve had enough with the political theater—D.C. residents deserve real safety, not soldiers moonlighting as https://t.co/IyRDmhGV8a”.
Later that day at 19:22 UTC, Ivey commented on the importance of America’s civil service and expressed concern over proposed changes by the previous administration. He wrote, “Around the world, governments struggle with corruption, brain drain, and weak institutions. Here in America, our civil service has been the global gold standard—driven by talent, commitment, and deep expertise.
The Trump administration’s “meat ax” approach threatens to tear that https://t.co/4hvxB2Q5g6“.
At 20:18 UTC on the same day, Ivey announced his support for releasing files related to Jeffrey Epstein. He said he signed a discharge petition to make these documents public: “I’ve signed the discharge petition to release the Epstein files because the truth shouldn’t be hidden behind closed doors.
The American people deserve answers, victims deserve justice, and this cover-up must end.
Release the Epstein files. https://t.co/czLCevMr50“.
Glenn Ivey succeeded Anthony Brown in Congress and previously served in the Maryland House of Representatives. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961 and now residing in Cheverly at age 62, Ivey holds degrees from Princeton University (BA) and Harvard Law School (JD).
