Rep. Glenn Ivey, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Maryland’s 4th district, has expressed his views on recent political developments through a series of tweets. His statements reflect his stance on bipartisan cooperation and his opposition to certain policies attributed to former President Trump.

On March 13, 2025, Rep. Ivey tweeted about the willingness of House Democrats to support a funding extension aimed at preventing spending cuts proposed by former President Trump and maintaining government operations. He emphasized the need for bipartisan compromise, stating: “House Democrats are ready and willing to vote for a 4-week funding extension that blocks President Trump’s disastrous spending cuts and keeps the government open. We are ready to vote tonight, tomorrow, or Friday. It is time for a bipartisan compromise for the good of the people…”

Later that day, he reiterated the importance of bipartisan collaboration in reaching a spending agreement beneficial to American citizens. In another tweet posted on March 13, 2025, he stressed: “It is crucial to the future of the American people that the upcoming spending agreement is bipartisan. Congress must continue to work together on a bipartisan bill to protect programs critical to our communities across the country.”

In an additional statement made on March 13, 2025, Rep. Ivey celebrated what he described as progress in safeguarding federal workers’ rights against actions linked to former President Trump and wealthy individuals lacking electoral mandates: “This is a great development and a win for democracy. We will not stop fighting to protect our federal workers against the illegal actions of Trump and unelected billionaires.”
