Rep. Glenn Ivey, who represents Maryland’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed several issues on his social media account on September 22, 2025, including concerns about health care during a potential government shutdown, greetings for Rosh Hashanah, and a tour of the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center.

On September 22, 2025, Rep. Ivey wrote: “Health care is on the line in this shutdown fight. The Big Ugly Bill puts 245,929 people in my district at risk of losing coverage. I am standing up for seniors, kids, and working families in Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties to protect care and keep services running—no”.

Later that day, he posted a message to the Jewish community for Rosh Hashanah: “As the Jewish community marks Rosh Hashanah, I send my warmest wishes for a year of health, peace, and renewal. This season reminds us of the power of reflection, forgiveness, and hope. May the year ahead be sweet, safe, and fulfilling for all who observe.”

In another post from September 22, Rep. Ivey described an official visit with other state leaders: “Today, I toured the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (BARC) with Maryland Delegation colleagues and local leaders, @ChrisVanHollen, @Sen_Alsobrooks, @RepStenyHoyer,@RepAprilDelaney,@RepRaskin,and @pgcountyexec. Together,we held a press conference to highlight the”.

Glenn Ivey has served as the U.S. Representative for Maryland’s 4th District since 2023 after replacing Anthony Brown in Congress. Before his current role in Congress he was a member of the Maryland House of Representatives. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961 and currently residing in Cheverly at age 62, Ivey graduated from Princeton University with a BA in 1983 and later earned his JD from Harvard Law School in 1986.
