Rep. Glenn Ivey, U.S. Congressman representing Maryland’s 4th district since 2023, has recently addressed several issues on his social media platform, including commemorating Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s Founders’ Day and calling for accountability in the aftermath of a fatal ICE shooting in Minnesota.

On January 15, 2026, Ivey posted a message celebrating the anniversary of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority: “Happy 118th Founders’ Day to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated—the first Black Greek-letter sorority, founded on January 15, 1908. AKA’s legacy of sisterhood, service, and leadership has strengthened communities for generations advancing education, civic engagement, and https://t.co/19DAvwiTBi”.

The following day, he addressed a field hearing in Minnesota regarding the death of Renee Good: “Today’s field hearing in Minnesota is about one thing: accountability. A mother was killed by a federal officer and the American people deserve answers, justice, and leadership that protects, not terrorizes, our communities. We will keep fighting until that happens. https://t.co/EW8bmGKrA8” (January 16, 2026).

Later that same day, Ivey announced his participation with Rep. Pramila Jayapal and the Minnesota House delegation at an event demanding accountability for the ICE shooting: “Joining @RepJayapal and the MN House delegation LIVE from Minneapolis to demand accountability for the ICE shooting of Renee Good. The public deserves answers. Tune in 10 AM ET / 9 AM CT.” (January 16, 2026).

Ivey has represented Maryland’s 4th District since replacing Anthony Brown in Congress in 2023. He previously served in the Maryland House of Representatives and holds degrees from Princeton University and Harvard Law School. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961, Ivey currently resides in Cheverly.
