Rep. Glenn Ivey, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Maryland’s 4th district, has been vocal on various issues through his recent tweets. Ivey, who replaced Anthony Brown in 2023 and previously served in the Maryland House of Representatives, expressed his concerns about several matters including deportations, administrative actions, and policies affecting public services.

On June 5, 2025, Rep. Glenn Ivey tweeted that “American taxpayers shouldn’t be funding illegal deportations and off-the-books prisons.” He described these practices as unconstitutional and inhumane, stating they are a stain on American values. Ivey committed to seeking answers both in Congress and through legal avenues.

Later that day, at 21:21 UTC, he addressed issues concerning Secretary Luttnick’s actions by tweeting “I confronted Secretary Luttnick for gutting the MBDA, firing NOAA scientists, and shortchanging quantum innovation.” He accused the administration of sabotaging progress and targeting public servants while emphasizing his determination to seek answers.

In another tweet posted at 22:27 UTC on June 5th, Rep. Ivey criticized House Republicans for their economic policies. He stated “House Republicans are selling out working Americans to protect billionaires like Elon Musk.” He accused them of undermining public services and federal workers while allowing what he termed “MAGA chaos” to prevail.

Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961 and now residing in Cheverly, Glenn Ivey graduated from Princeton University with a BA in 1983 and earned a JD from Harvard Law School in 1986.
