Rep. Glenn Ivey, U.S. Congressman representing Maryland’s 4th district since 2023, posted a series of tweets on August 28, 2025, addressing the anniversary of the March on Washington, a job opportunity for veterans and Gold Star Family members, and criticism of RFK Jr.’s actions regarding public health institutions.

In his first post at 15:19 UTC, Ivey marked an important civil rights milestone: “Today marks the 62nd anniversary of the March on Washington. We honor the legacies of the civil rights leaders who led this march. The work toward a more just and equal America continues. https://t.co/ajyLYWy3Rp”

Later that day at 19:14 UTC, he announced an employment opportunity in his Landover district office: “My office is seeking a veteran or Gold Star Family member for a two-year paid position in our Landover district office. To qualify, Veterans must be Honorably discharged, released from active duty within the last six years, pay grades at or below E-5, O-3, or W-2. https://t.co/GTmT3gAntw”

At 20:38 UTC on August 28th, Ivey expressed concern over recent developments in federal public health leadership: “RFK Jr. is tearing down America’s public health institutions. Firing the director and hundreds of experts doesn’t just cost jobs—it puts every American’s health at risk. In a time when science and transparency should guide us, this administration is silencing experts.”

Glenn Ivey has represented Maryland’s 4th District in Congress since replacing Anthony Brown in 2023 and previously served in the Maryland House of Representatives. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961 and currently residing in Cheverly at age 62, Ivey holds degrees from Princeton University (BA) and Harvard Law School (JD).
