Rep. Glenn Ivey, who represents Maryland’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed a range of issues on his social media account, including political violence, youth innovation, and concerns about free speech.

On September 16, 2025, Ivey posted about the current climate of insecurity in the United States: “These are dangerous times. Political violence is rising, school shootings remain a constant threat, and no community feels truly safe—not even in church. Easy access to guns and online radicalization are fueling fear and deepening our mental health crisis. We need bipartisan https://t.co/jEw0zcDDby”.

The following day, September 17, 2025, Ivey encouraged young people in his district to participate in a national coding competition: ” Today we celebrate #NationalAppChallengeDay! I encourage all young coders in #MD04 to submit their original apps by October 30th—you could have them featured in the U.S. Capitol! Don’t miss this chance to showcase your creativity and innovation. Get coding. Make https://t.co/aYAyOeOwyx”.

On September 18, 2025, he commented on recent developments concerning media freedom: “ABC’s decision to cancel Jimmy Kimmel Live, combined with the FCC’s heavy-handed censorship, is an alarming attack on free speech and artistic expression. In America, the government should never decide which voices get heard and which get silenced. This is not just about https://t.co/0btJMFeY7M”.

Ivey has represented Maryland’s 4th District since 2023 after succeeding Anthony Brown. He previously served in the Maryland House of Representatives and holds degrees from Princeton University (BA) and Harvard Law School (JD). Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961, Ivey currently resides in Cheverly.
