Rep. Glenn Ivey, a U.S. Congressman representing Maryland’s 4th district since 2023, has recently addressed several national issues through his social media posts.

On October 6, 2025, Ivey expressed support for science funding and space exploration efforts: “Today, as the @exploreplanets marks its Day of Action, I’m proud to stand with @BillNye, scientists, engineers, and space advocates fighting to protect critical investments in research and exploration.

A day later, on October 7, 2025, he called for congressional action regarding the ongoing government shutdown: “House Republicans need to return to Washington to negotiate a way out of this Republican-caused health care crisis and reopen the federal government. That same day, Ivey also acknowledged the anniversary of the October 7th terrorist attacks against Israel: “View my statement on the anniversary of the October 7th terroist attacks against Israel below . https://t.co/00yuJyweVj”

Glenn Ivey succeeded Anthony Brown in Congress after serving in the Maryland House of Representatives. He was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961 and currently resides in Cheverly. Ivey holds degrees from Princeton University (BA) and Harvard Law School (JD).
