Rep. Glenn Ivey, who represents Maryland’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed issues ranging from voting rights to economic pressures in a series of posts on his social media account.
On April 13, 2026, Ivey posted about participating in a major civil rights event: “Honored to join the National Action Network for their 35th Annual Convention. For 35 years, NAN has led the fight for justice and equality. At a time when voting rights are under pressure, that work matters more than ever. The times demand that we keep pushing forward! https://t.co/h2wnIvJmai”
Turning to economic concerns on April 15, Ivey referenced fuel prices and foreign policy: “Before President Trump’s war with Iran- I paid under $3 a gallon for gas. Now? Marylanders pay on average $4.12 a gallon. The ripple effects of this disastrous war are everywhere, from risks to our service members to rising costs hitting families and farmers, we have to ask a https://t.co/e6HIYZrDyF”
Later that day, he continued by highlighting tax burdens and the impact of recent policies: “This Tax Day, billionaires cash in on GOP giveaways while working families pay more for groceries, gas, housing, and health care. FACT: Trump’s war is hitting your wallet— on average Americans will spend $740 more at the pump this year.”
Glenn Ivey began serving in Congress in 2023 after replacing Anthony Brown as representative for Maryland’s 4th district. He previously served in the Maryland House of Representatives and has been active in public service for several decades. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961 and currently residing in Cheverly at age 62, Ivey holds degrees from Princeton University (BA) and Harvard Law School (JD).
