Rep. Glenn Ivey, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Maryland’s 4th district since 2023, recently posted a series of statements on his official Twitter account addressing national issues ranging from government operations to space exploration.

On March 31, 2026, Ivey wrote, “The White House doesn’t belong to any one person. It belongs to the American people.”

The following day, April 1, he commented on the ongoing Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shutdown and its impact on federal workers: “There’s real work waiting in Congress, and we should be back in Washington getting it done. While TSA workers are thankfully now being paid, many other critical federal workers are still going without pay during the DHS shutdown. House Democrats are ready to return and vote.”

Later that same day, Ivey addressed developments in U.S. space policy: “Artemis II marks a historic return to deep space and a major step toward humanity’s long-term presence on the Moon. I’m proud to support missions that strengthen American leadership in space and bring people together through innovation and discovery.”

Glenn Ivey succeeded Anthony Brown as representative for Maryland’s 4th district beginning in 2023. He previously served in the Maryland House of Representatives. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961, Ivey is currently 62 years old and resides in Cheverly. He holds a BA from Princeton University (1983) and a JD from Harvard Law School (1986).
