Rep. Glenn Ivey, a U.S. Congressman representing Maryland’s 4th district since 2023, used his social media platform on January 16, 2026, to call for accountability and transparency during a field hearing in the Twin Cities focused on the death of Renee Good.
In a post from January 16, Ivey stated: “Standing with @GovTimWalz outside today’s hearing—demanding accountability and answers. Justice requires nothing less.” He also shared a link for viewers to watch the hearing.
Later that day, Ivey emphasized the central issue of the proceedings: “Today’s field hearing in the Twin Cities was about one thing: accountability. Renee Good should still be here. Her family and the people of Minneapolis deserve the full truth, transparency, and justice. ICE must be held accountable, period.”
He further expressed gratitude toward colleagues who organized and participated in the event: “Thank you to @RepJayapal and the Minnesota Delegation for convening this hearing and standing with the community.”
Glenn Ivey succeeded Anthony Brown as representative for Maryland’s 4th district after winning election in 2022 and assuming office in 2023. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the Maryland House of Representatives. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961, Ivey resides in Cheverly. He holds degrees from Princeton University (BA) and Harvard Law School (JD).
