Rep. Glenn Ivey, a U.S. Congressman representing Maryland’s 4th district since 2023, posted a series of statements on social media this week addressing the ongoing war involving former President Trump and highlighting local contributions to space exploration.

On April 9, Ivey wrote, “I made it clear today: Trump’s war of choice is reckless, deadly, and driving up costs at home. House Democrats are forcing Republicans to go on the record with a War Powers Resolution vote. No more dodging. End this war now before more lives are lost.”

Continuing his criticism of Republican leadership in Congress, Ivey stated on April 10, “House Republicans need to act. Weeks into this unnecessary war, there’s still no clear direction, no real progress, and more questions than answers. It’s time to get serious, come back from your vacations, and do the job the American people sent us here to do.”

Shifting focus later that day to scientific achievements in his district, Ivey highlighted local advancements at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center: “Right here in Prince George’s County, @NASAGoddard Space Flight Center is helping power space missions like Artemis II. As we look toward returning to the Moon and eventually reaching Mars, the work happening at Goddard is shaping what comes next in space exploration #ArtemisII”

Ivey succeeded Anthony Brown as representative for Maryland’s 4th District in 2023 after previously serving in the Maryland House of Representatives. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961 and currently residing in Cheverly at age 62, Ivey holds degrees from Princeton University (BA) and Harvard Law School (JD).
