Rep. Glenn Ivey criticizes Trump administration over war policy and tariffs

Rep. Glenn Ivey, a U.S. Congressman representing Maryland’s 4th district since 2023, has criticized the Trump administration’s handling of foreign policy and economic measures in a series of posts on April 2, 2026.

In his first post at 15:13 UTC, Ivey commented on the ongoing war and its domestic effects: “Trump says the war is ‘nearing completion’ but gas prices are up, markets are shaky, and there’s still no clear exit plan. Working families are paying the price for a war Congress never approved. Enough.”

Later that day at 19:06 UTC, he addressed economic concerns related to tariffs imposed by the Trump administration: “We said from day one: Trump’s illegal tariffs would raise prices, slow growth, and hurt workers—and that’s exactly what happened. I’m working with House Democrats to hold this administration accountable, get refunds out fast, and stop this abuse of our trade laws.”

At 19:52 UTC on the same day, Ivey posted about congressional oversight efforts regarding the Department of Justice: “House Democrats will continue to press for answers and restore integrity at DOJ.”

Ivey has represented Maryland’s 4th District in Congress since replacing Anthony Brown in 2023. He previously served in the Maryland House of Representatives. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961 and currently residing in Cheverly, Ivey holds degrees from Princeton University (BA) and Harvard Law School (JD).
