Rep. Glenn Ivey, U.S. Congressman representing Maryland’s 4th district since 2023, has used his social media platform to voice concerns over former President Trump’s immigration policies and their impact on Black immigrants.

On February 25, 2026, Ivey stated: “Instead of listening to President Trump’s lies about immigrants and his immigration policies, I’m standing in solidarity with Mohamed.”

Later that day, he continued: “The State of the Union? Black immigrants have been demonized, attacked, and have been living in fear of deportation- no matter their status. Enough is enough. Stop with the lies. Stop with the demonization of immigrants. The State of the Union would be better if Ms. Kayuteh was”

In a subsequent post on February 25, 2026, Ivey added: “Correction: President Trump is the real fraud and his administration is the biggest threat to our country.”

Ivey succeeded Anthony Brown in Congress after being elected in 2023. He previously served in the Maryland House of Representatives and holds degrees from Princeton University (BA) and Harvard Law School (JD). Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961, Ivey currently resides in Cheverly.
