Rep. Glenn Ivey, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Maryland’s 4th district, shared his thoughts on recent political developments through a series of tweets. Ivey, who succeeded Anthony Brown in 2023 and previously served in the Maryland House of Representatives, has been vocal about budgetary issues and national matters.

On May 16, 2025, Rep. Glenn Ivey commented on the inability of House Republicans to pass their own budget. He remarked that “Even a broken clock is right twice a day. House Republicans couldn’t pass their own budget, despite writing it themselves, because it wasn’t extreme enough.” He expressed relief that this failure temporarily prevented significant cuts but warned that the struggle over Medicaid funding continues.

Later that same day, Ivey announced his upcoming appearance on MSNBC’s evening program to discuss a recent court ruling. In his tweet at 22:53 UTC, he stated: “I am looking forward to joining the @weeknightmsnbc tonight at 7p.m. to discuss the Court’s ruling.”

On May 19, 2025, Rep. Ivey extended his support to President Biden amid health challenges faced by the president. He tweeted: “President Biden and his loved ones remain in our prayers as he navigates this health challenge.”

Glenn Ivey was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961 and currently resides in Cheverly. He graduated from Princeton University with a BA in 1983 and earned a JD from Harvard Law School in 1986.
