Rep. Glenn Ivey, who represents Maryland’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, marked Hispanic Heritage Month and other local milestones in a series of social media posts on September 15, 2025.
In his first post, Ivey celebrated the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, stating: “Happy #HispanicHeritageMonth! I’m honored to join our Hispanic and Latino neighbors across Maryland’s Fourth District in celebrating your vibrant culture, rich traditions, and invaluable contributions to our shared history. Later that evening, Ivey congratulated actor Tramell Tillman from Prince George’s County for his achievement at the Emmy Awards: ” Congratulations to Prince George’s County’s own Tramell Tillman on making history at the 77th Emmy Awards! He earned Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for Severance—becoming the first Black actor ever to receive this honor.

Glenn Ivey has represented Maryland’s 4th District since 2023 after succeeding Anthony Brown. Prior to serving in Congress, he was a member of the Maryland House of Representatives. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961 and currently residing in Cheverly at age 62, Ivey holds degrees from Princeton University and Harvard Law School.
