U.S. Representative Glenn Ivey, who has served Maryland’s 4th District in Congress since 2023, marked Korean American Day and commented on national policy issues in a series of recent social media posts.
On January 13, Ivey acknowledged the impact of Korean immigrants and Korean Americans, stating: “Today, we celebrate the contributions of Korean immigrants and Korean Americans in Maryland’s Fourth District and across our country. Happy Korean American Day! “
The following day, Ivey addressed international policy concerns involving former President Donald Trump and their perceived domestic implications. In his January 14 post, he wrote: “Trump is talking about “running” Venezuela for its oil and demanding U.S. control of Greenland. Meanwhile, Americans are getting crushed by high grocery bills, rent, and premiums. Stop the oil-and-land grabs. Start lowering costs here at home.”
Later on January 14, Ivey highlighted a visit to NASA Goddard Space Flight Center with Congresswomen Zoe Lofgren and Grace Meng: “Proud to welcome Congresswomen Zoe Lofgren and Grace Meng to Maryland’s NASA Goddard Space Flight Center for a tour of the work that keeps America leading in space and science. Goddard is a national treasure. We have to protect this mission-critical work, invest in our engineers”
Glenn Ivey succeeded Anthony Brown as the representative for Maryland’s 4th District in 2023 after previously serving in the Maryland House of Representatives. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961, Ivey resides in Cheverly. He holds degrees from Princeton University (BA) and Harvard Law School (JD).
