Rep. Glenn Ivey, who represents Maryland’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, marked the second anniversary of the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse and highlighted Maryland’s leadership in technology and innovation through a series of posts on social media.

On March 26, 2026, Ivey reflected on the tragedy of the bridge collapse by posting: “Two years after the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, we remember the lives lost and the families forever changed. We carry them with us as we rebuild, protect jobs, and move forward together. Maryland Strong, today and always.”

The following day, he participated in a statewide event focused on technology competitiveness. On March 27, 2026, he wrote: “Pleased to deliver remarks at Maryland’s Competitiveness Conversation on winning the global AI and quantum race, alongside leaders across industry, academia, and government.” In another post that same day, Ivey emphasized local strengths: “From our universities, federal labs, and growing tech ecosystem, Maryland is leading the charge driving the innovation that will shape our nation’s future.”

Ivey has represented Maryland’s 4th District since 2023 after replacing Anthony Brown in Congress. He previously served in the Maryland House of Representatives. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961 and currently residing in Cheverly at age 62, Ivey holds a BA from Princeton University (1983) and a JD from Harvard Law School (1986).
