Second arrest made in Myrtle Point Park shooting, St. Mary’s County Sheriff reports

Armonie Josiah Jordan, 18, of California, Maryland, was arrested without incident on April 2 in connection with a shooting that occurred the previous evening at Myrtle Point Park in California, according to an April 3 statement from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office.

The case is significant for community safety as law enforcement continues its investigation into the incident. Deputies responded to reports of shots fired at approximately 6:53 p.m. on April 1 and arrested a juvenile at the scene that night.

Detectives later identified Jordan as a suspect and issued an arrest warrant charging him with five counts: illegal possession of a regulated firearm, handgun on person, loaded handgun on person, illegal possession of ammunition, and reckless endangerment. Jordan was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown to await a bond hearing.
