Second Nature Brands announced on May 2 a voluntary recall of certain 10-ounce packages of its Second Nature Keto Crunch Smart Mix due to the presence of undeclared cashews, pistachios, and cherries.

The recall is important because people with allergies or severe sensitivities to tree nuts or cherries could face serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume the affected product. The company said that no illnesses have been reported so far in connection with this issue.

According to Second Nature Brands, the recalled product was distributed nationwide in retail stores and through online orders. The affected pouches can be identified by UPC 077034013405 and are marked with “Best if used by 2/12/2027” on the back. Other date codes are not part of this recall.

The company said it discovered that products containing these allergens were distributed in packaging that did not list them as ingredients. An investigation found that a temporary breakdown in production and packaging processes led to the problem. Consumers who purchased these specific packages should not eat them and are advised to contact Second Nature Brands for a full refund.

Consumers can reach the company at +1.800.651.7263 Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 8:00PM ET, or Saturday and Sunday from 9:00AM to 5:00PM ET, or by emailing recall@secondnaturebrandsus.com.

Second Nature Brands said it is taking immediate steps to address the issue and prevent it from happening again. The recall is being conducted with knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
