The Patriot League announced on Apr. 27 that six Loyola University Maryland women’s lacrosse players have been selected for the All-Patriot League teams, with Mae Murphy earning Rookie of the Year honors.
This recognition highlights the achievements of Loyola’s athletes during the season and their contributions to the team’s performance in conference play.
Murphy was named both Rookie of the Year and First Team All-Patriot League. She leads Division I with 225 draw controls this season, breaking several records including Loyola’s single-season mark and most draws by a freshman in Division I, Patriot League, and school history. Murphy has recorded double-digit draw controls in all but three games this season, including a season-best 19 against Colgate. “She also has seven ground balls and 11 caused turnovers on the season,” according to league officials. Entering Thursday’s game, she is just 12 draws away from breaking the Patriot League single-season record.
Morgan Quade joined Murphy on the first team after leading Loyola with 38 assists and totaling 65 points this year. Quade ranks fourth in assists and fifth in points within the conference. She has scored multiple goals in ten games this season and posted a career-high seven points against Bucknell.
Mim Suares-Jury was also named to the first team after being recognized as second team last year. This season she contributed across multiple categories: second on her team for goals (32), points (52), draws (48), third for ground balls (22), along with nine caused turnovers.
Lauren Perfetto earned her first career All-Patriot League nod by ranking second on her team—and tied for sixth in league—in assists (29). Elisa Faklaris received her second all-league honor after leading Loyola with 42 goals while posting a .560 shooting percentage—best in conference play—and scoring hat-tricks seven times this year. Cydney Lisk anchored defense as captain; she led efforts resulting in Loyola having one of league’s top-ranked scoring defenses.
