The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office announced on April 11 that it is investigating reports of suspicious activity at Chancellors Run Regional Park in Great Mills. According to the office, deputies responded around 9 a.m. to a report of a man acting suspiciously inside a park restroom during St. Mary’s Little League Opening Day ceremonies.

The incident led to one individual being detained while the investigation continues under the Criminal Investigations Division. The sheriff’s office has asked anyone who was in the area or who may have additional information to contact Detective Andrew Burgess by phone or email, and encourages tipsters to submit information anonymously through text, online forms, an app, or by calling the Crime Solvers line.
