St. Mary’s County Sheriff seeks public help to identify suspects in vandalism case

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office announced on April 24 that it is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying individuals connected to a vandalism incident in Chaptico. According to the office, a truck was seen on video surveillance spinning its tires and driving in tight circles on a dirt lot owned by a local business, causing property damage around 7:25 p.m. on April 21.

The sheriff’s office emphasized the importance of community involvement in resolving such cases and urged anyone with information about the truck or its occupants to contact Lieutenant Edward Evans at 301-475-4200, ext. 8018, or via email at Edward.Evans@stmaryscountymd.gov referencing case #2026-27759. Tipsters can also provide information anonymously through text, online submission, app-based tips, or by calling the Crime Solvers line at 301-475-3333.

Tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward if their information leads to an arrest. The sheriff’s office stated that anonymity will be maintained for those using Crime Solvers services.
