Steny Hoyer, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Maryland’s 5th district, recently shared his thoughts on various issues through a series of tweets. Hoyer, who has been in office since 1981, expressed his views on Women’s History Month, national security concerns related to cyber operations against Russia, and an upcoming joint address to Congress.

On March 3, 2025, Hoyer marked the beginning of Women’s History Month by urging reflection on the contributions of women to the nation’s history. He stated: “As we begin #WomensHistoryMonth, let us remember the women who have shaped our nation’s history and celebrate those who continue to lead us forward.” He emphasized that America is stronger because of women and highlighted his commitment to working with Democrats to end gender discrimination.

Later that day, Hoyer criticized a decision made during the Trump Administration regarding cyber operations. In his tweet at 15:55 UTC, he warned: “The Trump Admin’s order to halt cyber operations against Russia is an invitation for them to continue their attacks on critical American networks and infrastructure, putting our national security in jeopardy.” He expressed concern over what he described as attempts to appease a dictator.

In another tweet posted at 22:23 UTC on the same day, Hoyer announced that Dr. Everett Kelley would join him for President Trump’s Joint Address to Congress. He expressed pride in this collaboration by stating: “I am proud to announce that @AFGEPresident Dr. Everett Kelley will join me for President Trump’s Joint Address to Congress tomorrow evening.” Hoyer conveyed his honor in having Kelley as both a constituent and partner in defending federal workers.
