Steny Hoyer, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress, representing Maryland’s 5th District since 1981, has been an active voice on legislative issues through social media. Notably on April 10, 2025, Hoyer expressed views on fiscal policy, foreign relations, and judicial mandates.

On April 10, 2025, Hoyer addressed the budgetary actions taken by Republicans. He stated, “Republicans threw out the rulebook to force through a budget that would explode the national debt, slash Medicaid, & continue to raise prices for working Americans in order to fund massive tax cuts for billionaires.” He added, “The American people shouldn’t have to bear additional costs.”

The following day, April 11, 2025, Hoyer commented on impending talks between the Trump Administration and Iran, emphasizing the importance of a strong stance on nuclear disarmament. He remarked, “As the Trump Administration prepares to enter talks with Iran, it is crucial that we continue pursuing a permanent end to Iran’s nuclear capabilities & malign activities throughout the region to preserve America, our ally Israel, & the world’s security.”

Additionally, on the same day, Hoyer welcomed a Supreme Court ruling regarding Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, stating, “Thankfully, the Supreme Court has ruled that the Trump Administration must facilitate Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia’s return to the U.S.” He insists, “Trump has the duty & power to bring Mr. Abrego Garcia back to Maryland & must act swiftly to do so.”

Born in 1939 in New York City, Steny Hoyer has been an influential political figure for decades, armed with degrees from the University of Maryland and Georgetown University. He transitioned from the Maryland House of Representatives and the Maryland State Senate to the U.S. Congress where he remains an advocate for his constituents.
