Of the $23.9 billion in taxes collected by Maryland in 2020, $227.1 million came from documentarty and stock transfer taxes, a 4.2 percent increase over the previous year, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s Annual Survey of State Government Tax Collections (STC).
Maryland collected $212 million in miscellaneous tax revenue during the fourth quarter of 2020, a 168.4 percent increase over the previous quarter when $79 million was reported, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s Quarterly Summary of State and Local Taxes.
