Comptroller of Maryland issued the following announcement on Aug. 22.
Protecting senior citizens is a top priority for our agency. Earlier this year we helped kick off the first Protect Older Americans from Financial Exploitation Week aimed at raising public awareness about the serious levels of fraud, theft and other financial exploitation schemes that target Maryland's vulnerable elder population.
