Frederick Breathe Free Sinus & Allergy Centers offers a Sinus Self-Assessment Quiz, where you can select symptoms you experience that could be related to sinusitis and receive a score that represents how much your sinuses impact your quality of life. Some of the symptoms are directly associated with the sinuses, such as congestion and experiencing nasal drainage, while other symptoms may seem more mental or psychological, such as fatigue or lack of ability to concentrate.
Dr. Jamie Oberman is a board-certified physician who specializes in treating disorders of the ear, nose and throat (ENT). Oberman studied at Boston College before earning his medical degree from the Tufts University School of Medicine on a scholarship from the Navy. He completed his internship and residency at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Virginia, and he completed his training at the Naval Undersea Medical Institute in Connecticut and the Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center in Panama City, Florida. He served multiple operational tours for the Navy and was honored as the “Undersea Medical Officer of the Year for 1999.”
He retired from the Navy in 2017 and moved to Frederick in 2018 to be closer to family. He and his wife live in Montgomery County and have three children.
"My philosophy and the philosophy of the organization has always been patient-centered care," Oberman told Maryland State Wire. "We offer minimally invasive procedures to include the ClariFix, or cryoablation neurolysis; the VivAer and RhinAer procedures, which are unique, radio frequency ablations of the posterior nasal nerve; as well as balloon sinuplasty for chronic sinusitis patients and the LATERA (nasal) implant, which is the minimally invasive approach to addressing the incompetence of the internal nasal valve. All of those are minimally invasive procedures that have improved efficiency in in our specialty, improved patient satisfaction, have reduced morbidity and have led the way in our industry. I was the very first person in all of the state of New Jersey to perform the ClariFix procedure, which is the cryoablation."
