Three arrested on drug charges after Kitzmiller traffic stop on April 9

The Garrett County Sheriff’s Office announced on April 10 that three individuals were arrested and charged with drug offenses following a traffic stop in Kitzmiller. The arrests took place on April 9, when the Garrett County Narcotics Task Force, assisted by county sheriff’s deputies, Maryland Natural Resources Police, and Maryland State Police, stopped a vehicle and conducted a search.

According to Sheriff Bryson Meyers, deputies developed probable cause during the stop to search the vehicle. They found controlled dangerous substances and drug paraphernalia inside. As a result of the investigation, Tonia Jo Collins of Oakland was charged with possession of methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl; Mark Allen Harvey of Kitzmiller was charged with possession of cocaine and fentanyl; William Edmon DeWitt of Oakland was also charged with possession of cocaine and fentanyl. All three were taken to the Garrett County Detention Center for processing.
