Maryland Transportation Authority issued the following announcement on July 12.
WHAT: One lane on southbound I-895 at the I-97/MD 2 spur road, south of the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel toll plaza, will be closed temporarily to traffic. Motorists should use I-95/Fort McHenry Tunnel as an alternate route.
Note: Work will also take place on the ramp from southbound I-895 to southbound I-97 with one lane remaining open to traffic.
WHEN: Weather permitting, starting Monday, July 16, through Monday, August 13, lane closures will occur as follows:
Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning;
Saturday and Sunday from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m. the following morning.
Lane closures are subject to change and closure times are dependent on traffic volumes.
WHY: Crews will be performing roadway resurfacing.
