MARYLAND ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE OF THE COURTS: Conflict Resolution Day Art Contest winners meet with Chief Judge Barbera during special reception

Maryland Administrative Office of the Courts issued the following announcement on Jan. 23.

On Tuesday, Dec. 11, Maryland Court of Appeals Chief Judge Mary Ellen Barbera met with students in grades K-8 who participated in the Judiciary's 13th annual Conflict Resolution Day Art Contest. The awards ceremony and reception took place at the Judicial College Education and Conference Center in Annapolis.

Chief Judge Barbera presented awards to young artists and met with the students, their families, and friends. More than 1,000 bookmarks were unveiled at the reception and displayed at the conference center during the month of December.

The contest, which is sponsored by the Maryland Judiciary's Mediation and Conflict Resolution Office (MACRO), received 1,233 entries from students across Maryland, with 13 bookmarks chosen as winners and 14 as honorable mentions.
